Since 1975, Peet Homes has been building homes in communities around central upstate New York. From concrete foundation to framing to finish trim, Dave Peet, working with a small crew, began by personally building 1 or 2 houses a year. As business grew, subcontractors were hired to work under Dave's close supervision. By the mid to late 1980's, as the economy was growing, Peet Homes was building over 20 houses per year.

Peet Homes have become well known for their quality construction and distinctive appearance; something the company has built their reputation around. In the early 1980’s, Peet Homes was selected as one of four builders in the exclusive South Woods Community in the Town of New Hartford, New York. This area has grown to become one of the most prestigious communities in the region consisting of upscale and luxury housing. Realtors would include the phrase "built by Peet Homes" in their ads as they began reselling these homes.

In 1986, the Community of Pine Grove, a 55-lot community off Cavanaugh Rd. in Marcy, New York, opened. Peet Homes was the exclusive builder of starter and move-up homes. In the first year all 15 lots of Phase I were sold out. The next year, 17 lots were sold and the balance during the following year.

As available building lots became more scarce, Peet Homes began purchasing property to develop. In 2010, they acquired 12 acres off Morris Road and began building Peet Drive with all public utilites for a 10 lot subdivision. Another parcel was purchased off Hayes Road in Marcy to accomodate 45 new homes.

In 2018 and beyond, we're gearing up for a new wave of customers. The younger generation is looking for open designs with lots of features. Families are moving up for more elbow room and convenience. Sometimes it's more practical to build new than pour money into remodeling. Often, money you'll never get back. The boomers are downsizing so they can be free to travel, yet come home when they want to be around family. Single story designs with open floor plans are becoming popular.
